Nerello Mascalese has great potential for the production of classic method sparkling wines. Prolonged aging on the lees brings greater aromatic complexity, great length and a very fine foam. Over the years, acidity balances itself with softness, generating harmony and making dosage superfluous.
The great acidity, the low concentration in color and many other elements that come from the terroir, make these grapes very suitable for the production of sparkling wines elaborated with the Classic Method.
We obtain a wine with great personality and structure that boasts the distinction of being the first sparkling wine obtained from Nerello Mascalese grapes.
Olio IGT Monovarietale Nocellara Etnea
Superior category Extra Virgin Olive Oil obtained directly from olives Nocellara and solely by mechanical processes.
This oil is obtained from Nocellara dell’Etna olives harvested in the autumn in the family olive grove and sent on the spot to cold extraction, not filtered. Nocellara dell’Etna is a typical variety of the province of Catania from which oils with particular elegance and finesse are obtained.

This wine is obtained from the best batches of Nerello Mascalese which have been selected for the perfect polyphenolic maturation. The long maceration at low temperature allows a complete extraction of the components, creating a wine in which the true potential of these particular grapes and the Etna terroir are enhanced.
The particular elegance of the tannins combined with a remarkable concentration determines a great sensorial complexity in which the mineral taste of the black sands of the volcano is highlighted in a very fine way. Alongside these characteristics, spicy notes are perceived that combine in a very pleasant way with the fruitiness of the grapes and traces of vanilla and toasted hazelnuts are felt in the aftertaste.
Grill & Sparkling Party is the event organized by Cantine Murgo 1860 in collaboration with the Cantine di Versante Est.

The tasting will be accompanied by a platter of cold cuts and cheeses, 3 patés of our production, our IGP olive oil, bread, breadsticks and natural water.
* Wines are subject to change based on product availability, in case of lack of some labels, they will be replaced by other products of equivalent price range.

Olio IGT Monovarietale Nocellara Etnea
The harvest is carried out from the end of September until the end of October and before the complete veraison of the berry. The milling is carried out on the same day of the harvest using a low temperature extraction system that respects the characteristics of the olives as much as possible. The refinement is carried out in small stainless steel tanks.
